“Core-5” Member of the White House Community violence intervention collaborative
Community capacity Development becomes “Core-5” member of the White House Community violence intervention collaborative (CVIC). This is an initiative launched by the Biden-Harris Administration that convenes Mayors, grassroot community violence intervention (CVI) organizations, national funders and federal agencies to strengthen and enhance the capacity of community – based violence intervention organizations to serve as a complimentary strategy to policing in reducing violence and create safe communities.
Community Capacity Development with CVIC will engage 64 grassroots CVI organizations, across 16 jurisdictions to execute a comprehensive national training and technical assistance and support programs.

CVIC Peer Exchange TTA
Thanks to the Biden Harris White House CVIC Peer Exchange initiative, Community Capacity Development led a peer exchange session, in collaboration with our esteemed partners at New Life Centers.
During this session, we delved into the Human Justice approach, showcasing the synergistic use of the Sustainable Growth Plan (SGP) alongside community-based asset mapping. Together, we facilitated the creation of actionable development goals for organizations from Chicago and Minneapolis, as well as individuals.
Moreover, the exchange provided a platform for the leadership of New Life Centers to share insights into their remarkable development journey. They offered valuable lessons on cultivating and mobilizing the Chicago community, highlighting some of their most effective practices.
