K. Bain stands as a beacon of change, a world-renowned public speaker, human justice activist, serial social entrepreneur and community leader dedicated to reshaping the narrative of violence and inequity. With a career spanning two decades, Bain has been instrumental in driving the significant reduction of gun violence in communities across the United States, earning him global recognition as a top-level strategist in conflict resolution, mediation, intergenerational wealth building, and youth development.
As the founder and principal of Global Bain, he has orchestrated the collaboration of leading experts in community redevelopment, enhancing the capabilities and reach of both for-profit and nonprofit organizations committed to empowering marginalized communities. Additionally, he serves as the Founder and CEO of Community Capacity Development (CCD), a Human Justice organization committed to community renewal, grassroots-driven economic and social development, and community-led public safety initiatives.
In 2021, K. Bain was sworn in as a Commissioner to New York City’s Racial Justice Commission, where he is charged with examining and dismantling structures and systems perpetuating inequitable power, access, and opportunity.
Bain's influence extends globally, having shared his expertise as a guest lecturer and keynote speaker at esteemed institutions such as UCLA, NYU, Princeton, and Columbia University. He has provided guidance on human justice solutions to cities across the United States and countries including Ghana, Dominican Republic, Trinidad and Tobago and more.
Recognized nationally as a Community Violence Intervention Leader (CVI), Bain plays a pivotal role in the Safer States Initiative conversation hosted at the White House in 2022, focusing on preventing gun violence. He has also been invited to address the House of Lords in the UK Parliament and attended and presented as a keynote spear at United Nations International Gatherings in Geneva, Switzerland.
K. Bain is a graduate of Brooklyn College, holding a B.A. in African Studies and Sociology, and a M.A. in Urban Policy and Public Administration. He has furthered his education through postgraduate executive leadership trainings at Harvard University, New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, and Columbia University’s Center for Justice. Recognized for his contributions, Bain has received a Congressional Achievement Award from the 5th Congressional District and multiple citations from elected officials across the United States.
